PETTING A CAT

cats are clocks. pet at the right hour.

The Lesson

The main difference between cats and dogs: dogs are happy all the time, cats have rhythms. A cat's biology determines everything about how they interact with you. Not what you do. In the morning when they're relaxed, you can rub their belly, move them around like Gumby. By afternoon when they're in play mode, the same actions will get your hand clawed off. The secret isn't technique. It's timing.

Real-World Example

Enterprise sales has cat timing. Call a VP during budget season (their "afternoon") and you'll get clawed. No budget, no interest, don't call again. Call during planning season (their "morning") and suddenly they're Gumby. Open to ideas, willing to explore, happy to take a meeting. Same VP, same pitch, completely different response. Know your prospect's biological clock.
