FINDING MEANING IN LIFE
“selfish to selfless. that's the arc.”
The Lesson
Meaning comes from following your biological arc: born 100% selfish (baby), gradually becoming more useful to others (adult), eventually purely giving (mentor/death). If you're young and learning, you SHOULD be selfish. That's what your biology expects. Meaning = being compatible with your biological stage. Tools: (1) Understand reality is filtered, not fixed. (2) Master people skills (networking, conversation, criticism). (3) Build talent stacks. (4) Learn the math of life (10 tries = 1 success, skill stacking is geometric, diversification matters).
Real-World Example
A young founder feels guilty for focusing on their startup instead of volunteering. But they're in the LEARNING phase. The selfish part of the arc. Building the company IS the right thing. Later, after success, the arc shifts toward giving: angel investing, mentoring, philanthropy. The guilt comes from applying the wrong phase's rules. A 25-year-old building should feel meaning from building. A 55-year-old hoarding should not.
