KNOWING YOUR PRODUCT IS SPECIAL
“the bad version must be popular. watch bodies not words.”
The Lesson
How to know if your product will succeed: (1) The BAD version must be popular. Cell phones were terrible bricks with dropped calls. People couldn't get enough. The early internet took a minute to load one image. People stood up from their chairs to try it. If your rough prototype doesn't excite anyone, polish won't help. (2) Watch for physical actions, not words. Friends will lie to be nice. But if people are cutting out your content, bootlegging your videos, stealing your ideas, that's body language. Physical action predicts hits.
Real-World Example
A founder shows their MVP to five friends. All say 'looks great!' That means nothing. But one friend texts their coworker about it. Another asks if they can show it to their team. That's physical action. They're doing something with their body. If nobody physically acts on your bad prototype, they won't act on your polished product either.
