MANAGING YOUR EGO
“you're particles. reinvent daily. ego is your problem, not your identity.”
The Lesson
Your ego is not who you are. It's your subjective sense of where you fit among others. And it's your biggest problem, not something to protect. Reframes: (1) You're just particles bouncing. Not special. (2) You're a smeared identity from baby to future self. Release the past. (3) Everything good comes from putting ego at risk (10:1 success rate on risks). (4) Your ego is the source of all your stress. (5) Nobody's better. Things just fit or don't. (6) Everyone's a basket case once you dig deep. (7) Everyone's bluffing. Past embarrassments? They don't affect you now. Put your ego aside and take chances.
Real-World Example
A founder won't cold-email famous investors because 'they'll think I'm nobody.' Ego talking. Reframe: they're just particles too, probably bluffing confidence, definitely basket cases in some way. The founder sends 50 cold emails. 45 ignored, 4 polite declines, 1 meeting that leads to funding. The embarrassments disappeared; the win remained.
