FUNNY WORDS

hard sounds. rare words. weird pairings. you feel funny words.

The Lesson

Some words are inherently funnier than others. Why? Hard consonants (K, D, T) hit harder. Rare words stand out. Naughty words carry extra charge. Word length affects comedic timing. Words used outside their normal context surprise. Weird pairings of unrelated words trigger laughs ('elbow monkey'). You can't fully articulate why. But you FEEL which words are funnier. Test: pair two random words. If they make you laugh, you've found something. Sprinkle your writing with tingly words and you become unforgettable.

Real-World Example

A founder writes product copy. Boring: 'Our solution improves efficiency.' Better: 'Our widget obliterates busywork.' 'Obliterates' has hard consonants and violence. 'Widget' sounds slightly absurd. The sentence is more memorable. Same meaning, funnier words. Apply this to pitch decks, emails, tweets.
