DOG TRAINER PORTION CONTROL
“dogs can't do fractions. neither can you. use tiny spoons.”
The Lesson
A dog trainer taught me this: dogs can't do fractions. Give them a small treat or a large treat-same happiness. Humans aren't that different. Use tiny cocktail spoons. Each bite gives about the same enjoyment as a large spoonful would. You get the impression you're eating more while actually eating less. Same satisfaction, fewer calories. It's a simple hack that exploits how brains process pleasure-we count bites, not volume.
Real-World Example
A founder loves ice cream but it's wrecking their diet. They switch to tiny cocktail spoons. Same bowl, same ice cream, but now it's 20 small bites instead of 6 big ones. Twenty moments of pleasure instead of six. They feel more satisfied with half the portion. The brain counted enjoyment events, not calories. Dog trainer wisdom applied to humans.
