SOCIAL ANXIETY REFRAMES
“you're the solution to their problem. walk in knowing that.”
The Lesson
Social anxiety reframes that work. Embarrassments: you won't remember them on your deathbed, only the funny stories they became. Flip the frame: you're not walking into problems. Everyone else has the problem (social anxiety), and you're the solution. Ask questions (Dale Carnegie): 'What brings you here?' gets them talking. Small talk isn't trivial-it's human experience, not information transfer. Be fit-people want to talk to fit people. Have stories ready: fast setup, three names max, practiced ending. Act confident-everyone's acting, so why not act as the confident version? Target bored people and groups of women. They'll open up.
Real-World Example
A founder dreads a conference mixer. Old frame: 'Everyone is a potential embarrassment for me.' New frame: 'Everyone has social anxiety and I'm going to solve it for them.' They walk up to someone staring at their phone: 'Hi, I'm Alex. What brings you here?' The person lights up. Their problem just got solved. The founder asks questions, shares a practiced story, excuses themselves gracefully. Top 10% social skills, just by following the system.
