BRAIN CANT TALK TO BRAIN

brain can't cheer itself up. use body as intermediary.

The Lesson

Your brain has different parts: automatic functions, feelings, and executive function (thinking/deciding). Here's the problem: your executive function has no direct communication channel to your feelings. You can't think yourself happy. But your executive function can control your body. It can make you walk in the sun, pet a dog, drink water, get sleep, eat better. And those body actions affect your feelings. So the path is: executive function → body → feelings. If you're feeling bad, don't try to think your way out. Use your body as the intermediary. That's the only channel that works.

Real-World Example

A founder is depressed and trying to 'think positive.' Doesn't work. Brain can't talk to brain directly. They try the body channel: force themselves outside (vitamin D), drink water (hydration), go to bed early (sleep), pet their dog (oxytocin). Within a week, feelings shift. They didn't think their way out. They moved their body and let the body change their feelings.
